M.A.C.E IS ORGANIZING BOYCOTTS AGAINCED MTV AND VH1
M.A.C.E IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION HERE TO HELP MUSICIANS EVERY WHERE FIGHT THE CORPORATE TYRANY OF VIACOM. We believe that ,they are suppressing the arts. We are starting are own music channel, so help us out.
this is all pretty vague, it doesn't take a monkey to psifer through the list of MTV's evils, but it's not exactly a counteraction to start your own channel. in all light of things what would that achieve, even the most radical of the mainstreme magazines are guilty of all the major propaganda modles, and on top of that the gestapo of visual media itself ensures a healthy climate of 'alternative' dross that will filter through anyways, what would be the point?
it's not like this is anything special, or even constructive, the 'mainstreme'(ooooh) would love an alternative, independant boom right now, it's been what, four or five years since the last? - it has teeth! watch out!
Would't it be a lot better to just turn off your TV altogether and become a book fiend instead? Furthermore shouldn't we be encouraging the general population to do the same, considering that the TV is the most successfull mass propaganda device ever devised?
...And no, I didn't just love it. For in many ways the film was a graphic documentary portrait of the way in wich colonized bl@ck/color people ( in this case q-brothers and sisters drag theirself out) worship at the throne of whiteness, even when such worship demands that we live in perpetual self-hate, steal, lie, go hungry, and even die in its pursuits. This kind of pleasure must hideous pissed off by any political member in/out those business.
