The People of Goteborg

Solidarity to the sisters and brothers of Goteborg

NO MORE G8, NOT in GENOA, NO-WHERE!

We don’t want the armed-democracy of the 8 big.

The police of the world-leaders shot against a multitude of protesters, tens of people have been wounded, two are in critical conditions. A seventeen years old
activist may lay dead in a Goteborg hospital after several hours on the operating table. He has been shot three times in the abdomen.

The Swedish police was authorised to use live ammunitions, and acted in close collaboration with the American secret service –Bush’s security service-. After the
day’s demonstrations activists were holding a Street Rave Party in the heavily militarised city centre. The police moved into the square and charged the crowd in
order to break the party. As people tried to escape skirmishes occurred and the police opened fire against the crowd.

What occurred in Sweden is yet another blow on the supposed legitimacy of the world-leaders.

The brutal response of the police was not called by an unmanageable situation; it was a deliberate military choice of the forces of the empire. A manifestation of
the armed-democracy that the 8 big impose on their servants. What is at stake is not the security of the 8 world-leaders, but that of the multitudes of people that will never be silent vis-à-vis these self-celebratory shows of power.

Presenting themselves as the ‘only possible world’, in order to plan the faith of the planet, they need a police ready to shoot against demonstrators. These summits
must take place no where: they celebrate genocide and produce death.

We the White Overalls (Tute Bianche) of Liguria, Italy, little fragment of this multiform world movement, we the "People of Goteborg" say Enough!

We say enough! to exploitation and oppression, to misery and war.

We say Enough! to those who are responsible for this status quo, to the ‘owners of life and death’.

Goteborg, Sweden, Planet Earth, this must be the last meeting of the world-powers.

Expressing our solidarity to all the protesters of Goteborg, to the more then 600 jailed brothers and sisters, we state:

That the 8 big are not worth a multitude.

That the g8 summit of Genoa must not take place.

That if the ‘ powerful’ and their police will arrive, they will be stopped by a disobedient and determinate multitude.

White Overalls (Tute Bianche), Liguria -for humanity and against neo-liberalism.

If the cops are trying to shoot us off the streets then I reckon we should take more people to Genoa.
We must be strong & united, but black bloc we trade unionists are not frightened of fighting but lets do it in a united way.
At the opera house in Prague some of the young anarchists in the hoods & balaclavas got us into a needless fight & gave the cops an excuse to arrest more people.

Alienated

I feel extremely sad about the events of this weekend. I feel upset that the police attempted to murder activists by shooting into the crowds. And I feel sad that the largely peaceful demonstrations and the causes they championed were overlooked. The most damaging aspect of these protests is that the police and a small number of people want to fight one another. I feel completed alienated in many demonstrations by those who just want to turn a mass protest or carnival into a blood bath. The police will look for any excuse for violence - and sometimes that don't have to have an excuse. But mindless violence from our side doesn't get us anywhere. Moreover, people like me are just put off turning up to any anti-capitalist protest. I just can't relate to the violence and feel alienated by rioters.
