EU Protest Solidarity Actions in Germany

alien8 | 16.06.2001 15:54

Actions have taken place in several German cities in solidarity with the demonstrations in Gothenburg and to protest against the massive violence by Swedish police. McDonalds was attacked in Nuremberg, and demonstrations were held in Stuttgart, Duesseldorf and Berlin. Several hundred people took part in an anti-EU protest in Hamburg (see pictures). Here, after a rally and several small actions in the harbour area, a demonstration moved to the Swedish consulate, which was protected by large numbers of riot police.
