RMT anti-privatisation strike - 2nd June
repost | 17.05.2001 18:30
It will take place on Saturday 2 June, the day before our next Tube strike and five days before the General Election. The demonstration assembles at 12:45 at Temple Place (nearest tube: Temple) for a march to Euston.
This demonstration needs and deserves a big turnout. And it could attract thousands and thousands of people. Together with the strikes, it could be the final nail in the coffin of the universally hated PPP. . . so long as we put the effort into building it.
So don’t hold your breath waiting for RMT head office to produce publicity - do your own! Stick some posters up, put it on the agenda of your next union branch, put it in your next mailing, go and leaflet your local station, consider organising transport to get people there, bring yourself and your banners and placards. . .
Leafletting campaign:
With the barrage of anti-union vitriol in the Evening Standard, it is more important than ever that the union gets our message out to public. RMT has produced thousands of leaflets explaining why we are taking strike action to prevent a Hatfield on the Tube. Please help us to get them out to as many people as possible.
The Campaign Against Tube Privatisation will be dishing out leaflets at the times and places listed below. Please join them.
