WTO Conference Qatar - Web Site

%-) | 08.05.2001 12:29

The web site for the WTO's next conference at Doha, Qatar 9-13 November 2001 is now online and developing.

As most protesters will not be able to enter Qatar for this oh-so democratic conference where our rights are up for grabs for corporations and governments to mess with, how is protesting this conference going to procede.

Get up to date on what they have planned! It is ON-LINE and so must we be!

Qatar - Oh my goodness.
What a great place to hold the conference. No democracy, a police state, brutal repression and best of all, no danger of those pesky protestors. Here's what I wanna know though:

If they're willing to hold it in a dictatorship like Qatar, then why aren't they willing to talk to Cuba?
- oh i see, wrong kinda dictatorship. The kind that doesn't consume American shit.

Oh well. I say we need a relentless picket of all American multinational companies (esp. petrol). So it's missing the target a little - so what? When did they ever care about 'collateral damage'? We could tie it into protests over the Kyoto agreement.

What do you think? Any other ideas? I'd be especially interested in hearing from any law enforcement / surveillance / Stasi out there - c'mon guys, you've wrecked whole countries before, you must have a few ideas for this.

actions in local communities linked through common concerns getting issues across while building links forcing the media to look at the issues instead of one huge spectacular international confrontation in one place where the conference is

time to evolve

time to grow stronger then they ever thought possible

they run away to the desert - we take action in our own communities - we become truly self conscious as a movement of peoples
