Election 2001 - New Labour's position on WTO.

Keith. | 07.05.2001 22:10

This is New Labour's position on globalisation, as put forward by Blair himself.

In the forthcoming election campaign the issue of globalisation will doubtless come up. So, as a public service, I have lifted this quote from New Labour's website to show the good people who read Indymedia what their real position on it is. Watch out for mentions of 'reducing poverty', 'social justice', 'people', etc:

"Government has to be the helper and partner of business internationally in the WTO, G8 and above all the EU."

What, no mention of them? Hardly surprising. This was Blair's speech to the Birmingham chamber of commerce on February the 2nd, 2001.
(ON YOUR KNEES WHEN ADDRESSING YOUR REAL MASTERS, BLAIR).

So, can I suggest that this quote is raised at every available opportunity - phone-in's, door-to-door canvassing, and anywhere else you can think of.

Cheers & Beers to those who care!

Keith.
