We apologise for the inconvenience, we had something rather important to say
We took one day out of many to speak for the voiceless and disenfranchised around the world and to prove that we are not alone in doing so. One day of legitimate protest that spread our message around the world and turned the normal balance of media reporting on its head. Five thousand people creating headline news all over the world. One day, the cost of which is a tiny fraction of the tax ?offset? by major corporations daily.
Do not adjust your set, reality is being realigned as you watch.
A whole generation raised on fairy stories, comic-book heroes and James Bond, has now realised that there really are evil goblins, masterminds and villains out to take over the world. Where are the good fairies, super-heroes and secret agents to match? These we must create and become ourselves. Armed with information, open access technologies, imagination and most importantly humour we can creatively fight back.
Our dreams and stories have been culture-jacked and marketed back to us. It?s time to create new ones, stories of bravery and taking responsibility for your actions. We must also re-evaluate those we already have. Parables, fables and traditional stories have never been more relevant or valuable, as they speak to each of us on an emotional and primal level.
Without creating a kind of personal revelation, how can we connect the individuals behind their secure walls of habit and back to what?s really out there? We must gently yet firmly wake corporations, consumers and communities alike from their illusions, delusions and addictions to the status quo.
Bring on the shock-troop troubadours, for this is going to be a difficult time for those that are asleep. And they will need guidance when they awake.
