Dragon of London and Modern Crusaders

I came to London to become educated about alternative media reporting, social movements and political awereness. It was the best Master class I have ever had. The day before the Mayday actions I visited the convergencecenter, collected information about the different actions around the city and checked my minidisc, camera and laptop. I was ready to join the Mayday actions.
What I saw on Mayday was a large collection of peaceful and stimulating actions done by people who are concerned about what is going on in the world, and in their own city. They care about politics, environment, human and animal rights. They are interested in debates and discussion about what they believe in, and they do not let anyone stop them in their fight for liberty and freedom of expression. They are the Active People who do not close their eyes (or harts) for the present conditions in their society. They also work for a future where we ALL can live in as free human beings.
I would like to call them "Modern Crusaders". One major difference with the christian crusaders in the past is that these Modern Crusaders do not kill for what they believe in: they try to CREATE a true and free society for us all.
I was chocked to read all the aggressive remarks done by the opposition on the discussionlists of the imc-site. I truely support Transparent News Production and the involvement of the audience. Therefore I strongly encourage everyone to join these discussions. Do not let the cowards who stayed at home during Mayday rule the content on the discussionlists!
On my way back to my hostel I bumped into this statue before walking on the London bridge. Being a first time visitor in London I had no idea what this dragon was symbolizing. Still I do not know, but I found it a appropiate symbol for reclaiming the streets of the city.
Wombles, pigoenfeeders, homeless, vegans, militant cyclists, Activists against the Fur Trade, squatters, imc people and all other freedom fighters - Thank you for an excellent class! :)
