Los Angeles has a message for the World!

MAYDAY IN LOS ANGELES, USA
MAYDAY IN LOS ANGELES, USA

Yes... even Los Angeles, California had a large MAYDAY march and rally. There are many poor Working Class people here in L.A., despite the propaganda images the "Hollywood Dream Machine" cranks out! Up to three thousand or more people took part in a May Day protest that marched through the Los Angeles Korea Town district to Macarthur Park, an area populated by poor Mexicano and Central American Immigrants (L.A. is home to huge numbers of poor Immigrant Workers, and this 'underclass' does most of the menial labor). A great number of those who marched were Pilipino Workers, who are super exploited in L.A.'s 'shadow economy.' Many Women participated in the Workers march, no doubt brought into the protest through the hard work of L.A.'s Pilipino Worker's Center (PWC). While photographing the crowd I felt a tug at my shirt sleeve... I looked around to find a lovely Pilipina Lady who practically begged me to take a photograph of her group. I'm glad she got my attention because the result was this terrific photo. The beautiful spirits of these Workers and their profound message should reach across ALL borders!
