Police academy research

dubious | 01.05.2001 22:19

After much research by 6000 police, at a cost of £20 million, the conclusion is that if you confine a large number of people to a small space for a long time they will become irate

Duh.
Media coverage I have found to be mixed - sometimes I even heard the issues behind the event being mentioned. Not too often though.
One particularly unreconstructed LBC DJ panned protestors for 'sticking their nose in to other countries' business' and then 15 minutes later panned them again for their disrespect of Churchill, whose main act was to convince the British public to risk their lives sticking their noses into some major German-Polish business.
I would like to sugest people do not rely on abstract 'capitalism is the enemy of the people' statements and concentrate on examples of moral outrage, e.g. state the working conditions at Nike factories. This would seem to be a better way to convince people who may not know or care about political theory.
