It is natural that such systems will of course, fail, when placed under the heavy traffic that it will have recieved today.
I'd like to know the hitrate on that site. As it would be a prime indicator of how the public refuses to be lead like fools by a media whose truth is so closly allied to control.
But the death of democrasy doesn't come about with the death of a webcam...And the police turning it off, well, they do it to themselves, don't they eh?!?
Never forget that the true tradition of communication amongst the more enlightened is that of the oral tradition. When you look someone in the eyes, listen to their voice, using every sense, you know who and what you can trust.
The rest of communication is smoke and mirrors, regardless of ownership.
The view from http://www.fujiint.co.uk/street/index.html has been quite scary all afternoon. Initially there were protesters with banners scattered around this area. Then only 5 minutes later, there was a thick line of police. 5 more minutes and the crowd had been pushed right back into the distance. The police tactics look outrageous just from their own traffic cams!
I also feared the worst when the traffic cams went offline. Hopefully that was only due to excess web traffic.
imagine the scene - a protester lunges forward with some kind of weapon to attack an officer - the officer responds - like you or I would do - in self defence. At that point 'CLICK' - one picture of a policeman, in the middle of a seemingly unprovoked attack on an innocent protester. That picture would be all over the web in seconds. Disinformation works both ways. Best that no-one is sullied..........
funny how all the webcams showing london, especially oxford street have been moved, turned off or just blocking the image...there were no problems until 30 or 40 mins ago...
So they have to hand over all recorded footage they have of you if you request it right?
Considering so bloody many people were section 60'd, searched and were pressurised into giving their names and addresses, these people should write in and request the footage, since those that gave correct information (and a lot of people did faced with such police intimidation) have nothing to lose by requesting the footage. Mostly this will be boring shots of the same people being forced into a smaller and smaller space over a period of about 7 hours, with an exit only being guarenteed after some sort of confrontation - geddit? they keep the crowd there using degrading and confrontational tactics till after HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of standing on each others toes in the wet someone reacts and pushes back. PEOPLE WERE HELD FOR SEVEN HOURS!!!
They only began to let people leave once there had been some confrontation.
Anyway, those of you who gave real names, get your footage.
I think I can give a decent explanation for the webcam going offline. On ITV news on 1st May I saw someone climb up a pole and rip the CCTV off the top of the pole. No conspiracy, just someone tearing it apart.
As for the Fuji one being moved, could also be someone climbing poles or it might be a conspiracy.
If there are idiots ripping up CCTV cameras i'm no technical expert but i'm not sure if they will still work. Anyone with a more technical analysis please help me.
