bbc wary of filming 'trouble'

bbc camera folk are advised not to film any 'trouble' this year as police tried to get footage last year, lawyers or courts prevented them but with terrorism act in place this year they are not sure they can stop the police seizing 'evidence'...

heard a rumour that bbc camera people are being advised not to film any riot or similar situations this year. the story is that last year the police made a serious effort to get the footage off them, but their lawyers etc held them off using the old journalistic principle that reporters put themselves and their independence at risk if they let the police use their footage, photos or notes. but it was apparently a close call, and this year with the terrorism act in place, it seems that the beeb's legal people are not sure they can pull it off again. so they are being advised not to gather the kind of footage that might be seized so as to avoid the awkward situations resulting.
anybody know any more about this? are independent camera folk at risk too perhaps?
