70 robincook a likes gathered today outside the foreign office to insit that robin cook stops lying about iraq
70 pinnochio nosed robin cook look a likes gathered today between the showers to call for Mr Cook to stop lying about sanctions on Iraq. The action was called by Voices in the Wilderness UK and ARROW (Active Resistance to the Roots of War).
Voices member Richard Byrne, who visited Iraq in January 2001 said "Everyone knew when Pinnochio lied because his nose grew. Mr Cook's nose doesn't grow but it's still obvious he is lying. Anyone who reads the UN's own documents, or reads the reports of the Save the Children Fund, Human Right';s Watch or CAFOD can tell Cook is lying. Pinnochio learnt to listen to his conscience and stopped lying. When he did that he stopped being a puppet and became human. We are calling on Mr. Cook to stop being America's puppet, listen to his conscience, stop lying and get human!"
Voices also launched their new website www.robincook.net (click on the briefing to watch Cook's nose grow.) the Save the Children Fund described sanctions as "a silent war on Iraq's children."
Voices in the Wilderness UK call for the immediate and unconditional lifting of economic sanctions. Voices send sanctions breaking delegations to Iraq every few months. If you'd like a delegate to visit your group for an eye witness account then call Voices on 0845 458 2564 (local call rate)
