violating what

it's all a question of self-defence and how widely you draw the boundary of 'self'. as a cosmic hippy type i draw it pretty wide, so can understand why people want to 'violate' structures and systems that are intrinsically violent and attack the people and planet they identify with. however i wouldn't widen that reasoning to violent attacks on individuals, and would always advocate non-violent self-defence where possible.
trouble with the press etc is they can't seem to tell the difference between a window and a person. at Euston 2 years ago it was the police smashing up people including journalists, and anarchists smashing a van - shows the press sense of value that they were more concerned about the van! anyway. yes let's be honest about violence, but let's separate animate from inanimate objects!

Pagan's Day Hooray

Winston's been hidden behind a wall of shame for May Day, where he should remain, ever after. Most people turn up simply because they care about the planet we live on, if that's a crime, I'm guilty as hell, see you there...

Firstly I hate McDonalds as much as the next anti-capitalist, but what exactly does trashing it actually achieve? It gives the police an excuse to marginalise, threaten and even beat us up. As someone said somewhere else on this site we'd be far better of convincing the people who work in McDonalds to run the place themselves than trashing it.

I agree that there is a difference between attacking people and property and that the media can't see that, but it is important to remember that they already have problems telling one anti-capitalist from another and indeed the whole movement from terrorists. Wanton and rather pointless destruction only serves to further that idea in their tiny little minds, which does nothing for the movement.
