New Labour swept to power because they promised to outlaw BLOODSPORTS, knowing full well the ‘Lords’ and Masters would NEVER in a million years, approve this Bill, to undermine their dominance over land, beasts and peasants! As an American, I am curious to know what the general attitude is towards the royal family. Clearly, by keeping the royal family alive, you keep your history alive, and that is indubitably important. However, I imagine that the pecuniary cost of supporting the royal family is huge, and one wonders if that money might be used in a better way. Is there any public dialogue about this, or is this subject taboo? Just curious.
