Rough Ride as Blair Graces Cumbria with State Visit

Judge Mentle | 22.03.2001 17:19

Its remarkable how many figures from the establishment, crown, state, bureaucracy, military, are suddenly descending on Cumbria

Not since the days of Wordsworth does it seem that so many household names want to head to Cumbria, erstwhile tourist area and one-time agricultural area too.
Indeed, its fair to ask what ARE words worth when no efforts are being spared by the establishment to explain why the farmers must, (no, absolutely must, no, dont argue, its out of the question,) have their healthy livestock slaughtered. Still, seems like talk of defiance against the MAFF (unfortunate acronym if ever ) is guaranteed to get you a pleading from the powers that be, if nothing else.

Keep checking www.news-and-star.co.uk for updates on the farmers rebellion in Cumbria.

The LAW says farmers MUST shoot and burn healthy livestock, and submission to orders is the LAW!

Darkus Howe suggested a cull of politicians at the next election, far preferable to killing animals.
