I haven't read the book yet, but I will as soon as I can get a free copy. With respect, I believe the knowledge that business is threatening our democracy has been known for sometime and the resistence that is occuring and indeed has been happening for many years is because of the destructive nature of business and our lack of democracy. That aside, I don't want to sound pompous in saying I know about this but I'm slightly miffed as George Monbiot good wordsmith that he is, has sold out. He has written a book condemning the system as it stands, and yet he works for a paper which is part of the system which condemns movements which don't fit with the social order. The Guardian only has a few 'hard' left journo's of which GM will no doubt class himself, yet to add insult to injury he wrote a damning report on Reclaim the Streets after the Mayday protests
after an already huge hysterical and hysterical onslaught from the media. So I may agree with what he writes in the book, I may not but either way his priciple is lacking.
