The day began when a crowd gathered outside the Mexicn Embassy, in London's Hyde Park, to protest in solidarity with the Zapatista's, who today make there historic unarmed march into the Mexican capitol. The protest was attended by a diverse group of supporters, both from the UK and Latin America, organise by the Digital Guerilla Group. The protest was friendly and celbratory with speeches comending the work of the zapatisata's and the EZLN in sustaining their autonomy in the face of repressive governments and broken promises - a group struggling for rootedness in indigeous life and advancement in communicating this with the world at large.

With Peruvian muscians adding flavour to the protest, the group moved into the small side road to talk and share experiences, however with the arrival of two big, burley policemen on bikes, were told to move off the road or they wouldbe arrested for obstructing traffic. Aftersome consternation on the side of the protesters the group re-assembled onto the pavement. More consternation was added when the police promtly put a stop to the stirring music that had broken the cold sunday chill and warmed the hearts of those who came to be comrades.

At this point the Zapatita supportes moved off for a sprigthly jaunt across london to Oxfords Circus where another solidarity campaign was occuring, this time in solidarity, not only with Zapatistas, but as Zapatistas, and against abysmal conditions in sweat shops.
