International Women's Day Solidarity - GAP / Nike Protest
8th March 2001

The Flagship GAP store and 'Niketown' were targeted today in London's Oxford Street as part of International Women's Day protests. Both GAP and Nike stand accused by campaigners of violating human rights and exploiting women and children in their sweatshops.

Below is a small mpeg movie from outsde GAP (you may have to wait for the whole clip to download before viewing)

great to see such an energetic, well attended demo, thanks to those who made passionate, well informed and (short) speeches, the solidarity, dancing, energy and music was so inspirational, lets take Oxford street more often! Lets see more film of dancing, music and celebration! This time Gap and Nike customers went away empty handed and with a lot to think about, the best way to close those bastards down that I can think of. And it was fun!
