An organisation facing proscription is the PKK (Kurdish) whose imprisoned leader, Ochalan, was captured in Kenya after being refused entry as a political refugee by several EU countries in 1999. He is currently being held on a militarised island by the Turkish authorities where he is going to be tried by a military court with no jury. The human rights of people who live within several refugee communities across the UK will be affected by this legislation.
