anti-gm cows blockade Sainsbury depots

Hugh Warwick | 22.02.2001 17:11 | Bio-technology

This morning (22 Feb 2001) at approximately 10:30am protestors have begun blockading Sainsbury's regional distribution centres around the country, preventing them from supplying Sainsbury's supermarkets with GM-fed animal produce because of their failure to follow recent moves by other supermarket chains in announcing a date by which all own-brand animal products will be from animals raised on a GM free diet. These images comes from the protest at Basingstoke - where 4 people were eventually arrested, having locked-on underneath a lorry, blocking the access to the depot.

Boycott LORD Sainsbury

23.02.2001 13:58

Lord Sainsbury brokered the deal with an anonymous American backer to keep Huntingdon Life Sciences financed for a further five years, which will result in the needless and agonising death of about 1,000,000 defenceless animals. Mr. Cass, who has just been beaten for his lab work said. "We are involved in developing new medicines. All the work that we do is demanded by government to improve safety to the public and human health." The work he does is for the science minister's agro-chemical experiments, which are detrimental to all our health. The diseases they always site as an excuse for their barbarity, like Parkinsons and MS., are caused by vaccines.
