Hello friends!
Friday at 17H, 50 persons assembled in front of the WTO in Geneva with
banners saying:
"...Prague, Davos, ECUADOR ...
GLOBALISE RESISTANCE!"
"WB, IMF, WTO, Ecuador has already paid!", "Colombia Plan, Who profits from
the ma$$acre$?", etc...

The police were well prepared for our assault, with Robocop outfits,
barriers, etc., and informed us that the demo was not authorised and that
we would not penetrate the WTO... But that was not the objective this time!
We occupied the Ecuadorean Mission to the WTO, which is exactly across the
street from WTO. From its balcony, decorated with your huipiles and
banners, we invited by loudspeaker the journalists (and police) to
participate.
It was quite short (the police lacked humour) but we had time for some
photos (Associated Press) with the police and the director of the Mission,
Senor Betancur. We gave this gentleman the open letter (below) to be
transmitted to president Noboa. There were also journalists from Brazil,
India and the US
(WTO is handy for that).
The police jailed about 30 people (including a representative of the
Process of Black Communities of Colombia, a green deputy and some other
local notables). But the Mission (which probably doesn't want a political
trial) hasn't filed a complaint for the moment. So we are all free and
content.

Tomorrow we will send photos.
See you later,
