If enough Israelis have not been sufficiently disgusted by the treatment meted out to the Palestinians over the last 4 months, then maybe the shameful idiocy of the contest that saw Sharon win today’s election will help pave the way for the much needed process of self-appraisal in Jewish Israeli society.
