Hackney Town Hall was the venue on Wednesday 31st February for the end of 3 days of General strikes, organised by Unison. Council services were shut down right across the board as workers and residents joined the picket lines to show their disgust at the disgraced councils £22 million
overspend, and the ensuing budget cuts.

Hackney Council Protests

I'm in full support of the protests against the Hackney City council! How dare they actually bring in someone at £150,000 a year to cut the wages of their workers AND services to the community under the guise of not having enough money! Let them get rid of the £150,000 a year position and they'll find that they have £150,000 more to spend on services! The cheek of it all!

I fully support the recent strikes, protests in Hackney against the savage council cuts.
However i personally feel that now is the time to go on all out strike because its only this action which
will beat this fucking arrogant neo liberal minded labour/tory council.

Good look in the struggle ahead.
