more turkeys at Asda

Hugh Warwick | 22.12.2000 15:50

Tuesday 19th December 2000, 20 campaigners, dressed as turkeys, succeeded in blocking the Asda distribution depot at Dartford for a good part of the morning. They were demanding an end to the use of GM feed in Asda's animal products. Asda have as yet to make any moves in this direction, and further direct action of this sort is inevitable.

Similar actions occured in new zealand against Tegel's, who are importing animal feed proven to contain GE soya. A follow up action on December 27 involved activists chaining themselves to a boat bringing in animal feed.
