Belfast saw Clinton over the last day. It also involved a number of protests. The main one last night saw the American Consulate being occupied for 20 minutes.

The Anti-Clinton chants included “coming here talking Peace” “Killing Millions overseas”.

The next day a group of around 5 of us managed to get tickets to the keynote speech. The secret service and the media focused on two activists.

We hope that Bertie Ahern (Irish Prime Minister) is proved wrong when he said that all the people of Ireland are happy that Clinton came to our island.

We were in there protesting about the hypocrisy of Clinton. Clinton funds Israel, a state based on apartheid where Arabs cannot vote and are not allowed to become full citizens of the state. A state that has killed well over 300 Palestinian people, in the last 3 months. We heckled clinton because he has killed more people than the Irish paramilitary has ever done. There where three hecklers and five activists and not a lone heckler.

That is what we where protesting about. We where not Paisleyites but socialists who felt sick at the rhetoric coming from Bill Clintons mouth! We denounced him for the capitalist lackey he is.
