Bogus Baking Brigade Press Release
''Stirring up race hatred is a recipe for getting your just desserts''
''Stirring up race hatred is a recipe for getting your just desserts''
On Saturday 18th November the Bogus Baking Brigade tried out their latest recipe by 'pieing' Home Office Minister Barbara Roche as she left her advice surgery in Wood Green, North London. This action was carried out today to highlight the increasing xenophobia and racism which Roche's stand on immigration control has contributed to. Two 'Bakers' ensured that Roche recieved her just desserts by delivering two lemon meringue pies square in the face.
WHY ROCHE?
1) Within the UK Roche has fostered racism by implementing and defending disciminatory policies such as: imposing the voucher system on assylum seekers rather than providing proper cash benefits; forcibly removing people to sub-standard accomodation away from family, friends and services; and locking up an increasing number of people fleeing persecution.
2) Roche is one of the key figures behind the Labour government's latest wave of immigration control. These controls are designeds to keep out people who need to flee their homes because of the effects of poverty, persecution, wars and disasters - the very things that big business and politicians around the world cause. The arguement that the UK cannot accept further economic immigrants is exposed as bogus by the proposals to allow in large numbers whose bank accounts or employment skills are considered desirable.
We want a world where the movement of people is determined by human needs and desires rather than profit motives.
