Cult attempts to get support from "Respectable" British Names

Worried | 14.09.2000 15:09

A major cult is advertizing its 'services' on London Under ground, in the Evening Standard newspaper, and in the spring used the Selfridges Hotel in Oxford St to hold an exhibition.

The Sientology cult, which likes to portray itself as either a self help organization or a church, depending on the context, is having a major campaign in London, it seems.

If you are concerned about them, best contact the Fight Against Coercive Tactics; run a websearch for "FACTnet".

I read somewhere about some guy who ended up paying about $20,000 for their 'courses', only to find out the ultimate problem in his life was that he was being controlled by satanic flying saucers... They're certainly trying to get into the mainstream, eg that Hollywood sci-fi film they made, which, fortunately, flopped.
Interesting to note they hide behind the 'freedom of religion' excuse, trying to come over like a straight forward church. A lot of liberals are taken in by this: perhaps they ARE just another church ?... perhaps Christianity is no less crackpot ?... but then, what are we campaigning for, equality of nonsense ? No, we have to fight for SECULARITY, which guarantees the rights of atheists along with all 'genuine' religions, but not weirdo cults.
