John Allbar, a Green party member who now lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire said: "It turned out I was the only individual at the Inquiry in support of the turbine apart from the team that Ecotricity employed to support their application. Turbines can be controversial but this one, a single large 2MW turbine, seemed well sited and I was pleased to hear on Sunday 21st May that its been allowed on appeal. There were plenty of antis quoting Lovelock and Bellamy and so on. They'll be disappointed, but this is undoubtedly a decision that reflects how the vast majority of local people feel."
John Allbar continued: "I spoke to very many people in the Mendip area, and I was heartened by how many felt strongly that this would be an elegant and necessary addition to the landscape. I would be happy to try and answer any emailed questions about this scheme ."
John Allbar continued: "If we are to tackle climate change and energy security then we must look more at clean, green, safe solutions like this - there are many different renewable energy technologies - together with reducing our demand they are the answer."
