Here's an update of anti-G8 related events in Bristol for the next few weeks. If you are in bristol (or nearby ie Bath etc) feel free to come along, or organise your own!
Sat 28 May, 11.30am to 5.30pm: Training for Action
Location: St Werburghs Community Centre, Merstham Rd, Bristol BS2.
Description: Direct action/affinity group & first aid training. All welcome – free/donations needed.

31 May, 7.30pm: Bristol Dissent group open meeting
Location: Kebele social centre, 14 Robertson Rd, Easton, BS5 (tel 0117 939 9469)
Description: Planning & discussion meeting with report back from national Dissent gathering; organising for the G8 summit locally & in Scotland; other local activities. All welcome.

Sat 4 June, 12 noon onwards: Anarchy Bear's Grrr8 picnic & funday
Location: College green, central Bristol, BS1
Description: Reclaiming a greenspace in the city with a fun-filled expression of defiance against cuts in services, privatisation, Big brother & the G8.
Bring a frisby, family & friends, and food to share. With kids stuff, 5-a-side footie, clowns, facepainting, drummers, skateboarding, games, and info stalls. All welcome - it's free!

Location: Kebele (see above)
Description: Intro to legal support service for protesters at the G8, and an insight into Scottish law. All welcome - free/donation.

Location: The Full Moon, North St (Stokes Croft), Bristol BS6
JOIN THE RESISDANCE!!
Live bands - The Spartans, Band 6 and Kilnaboy
DJs - Jon TOSSER, Filfy H and Macanudo
£5 on the door – all proceeds to funding anti-G8 actions locally & in Scotland.

Sun 19 June, 2-5pm: Training for legal observer volunteers
Location: Kebele (see above)
Description: training for volunteers who will be working as legal observers during the G8 summit. Spaces may also be available for affinity group members taking on an informal legal support role within their group, BUT space is limited so please contact us first.
Send your name, email address & preferably a tel.no to bristol_g8workshops@riseup.net, putting ‘legal support’ in the subject heading, and await confirmation. OR speak to a legal support volunteer at the Bristol Dissent meet on 31 May.
