I have no vote in the UK's May General Election, as I'm homeless. I wish I had, because our representatives, chosen at this election, will determine the destiny of the world for some truly crucial years to come. A stark choice confronts us - either Tony Blair behind bars awaiting trial for war crimes - or the same man shoehorning in totalitarian laws for another four years.
There is ample evidence if we care to dig for it, that ruthless elements, cloaked by official; secrect within our armed forces and intelligence services have been killing innocent citizens, blaming those deaths on the current 'bogey', left wing militants or Al Quaeeda, and getting away with it. Just do a web search for "9/11 truth" or "Bologna" and "Gladio" and you'll see what I mean. The obsessive secrecy Britain is plunging into also becomes clearer.
The US mission for a global empire is in full flow, the war crimes are scrolling past on our computer monitors and TV screens and the public are slowly cottoning on. The big question right now is - as the totalitarian truth leaks out - for how long will the British public buy it?
Will we buy the deaths and sackings of journalists, our eyes and ears? Will we buy destruction of public services to pay for massive military spending? Will we believe Blair when he launches an attack on Moslems and says he's not a racist? Will we, this May, buy into a Punch and Judy show election between two traitors, Howard and Blair?
How we Britains vote in response to the shame of being implicated in Bush's amoral imperial carnage is a choice of truly historic proportions. And the hopes of the world will be with us.
Unlike the US elections, with their easily fixable electronic and postal systems, UK elections are conducted in traditional secret ballots on numbered slips of paper which the candidates can verify. Even if Special Branch do go through ballot papers afterwards to see if you voted for a Moslem the end result is very difficult to fix. And just like last year's Spanish elections the people really do have a chance to say a clear NO to plans for a global police state, and NO to a never ending war on Moslem 'terrorist' freedom fighters.
Please, if you do nothing else in the run-up this forthcoming election do the following three things.
1. Find out the name and party of your MP. http://www.locata.co.uk/commons/
2. Find out if they voted against the war. If they abstained or voted for, it it's bye-bye traitor! http://www.parliament.uk/commons/lib/research/notes/snSG-02109.pdf
3. The best chance to remove mincing or pro-war New Labour MP's will almost certainly be to vote Liberal Democrat.
Whether or not the Campbell, Blair, Hain, Milburn, Prescott vision for Britain is allowed to unfold really is down to us, and whether we can be bothered to pull out our fingers to stop it. That means supporting Labour MP's that voted against the war and voting in Liberal Democrats elsewhere, the party that sees right through the ridiculous War on Terror and will help bring in an electoral system, PR, which would mean Britain seeing it first Green MP's!
Now how's that for a plan of action!

MP Accountability - Name & Shame

How has your MP voted? What parliamentary questions has he asked? What speeches has he made? What Early Day Motions has he signed? Has your MP blindly followed the Party Whip, doing as he is told or does he occasionally rebel? How does your MP represent you? To get the facts with which to Hold 'Em To Account!! Use the link below
Once you have the facts of your MP's (probably poor) representation - Name & Shame. Post what you find to Power to the People and to your local Indymedia. Help empower other constituents, be the media! With General Election looming it could have a real impact.

Let us know where you are staying because some Iraqis would like to join you if they could to escape the nonsense occupation that is bombing cities to rubble. You can sit around with them and share stories of the nonsense you have escaped. But they might not be able to get away so apoligies if they don't make it with you.

Your logic extends beyond the 'vote for anti-war Labour MPs' and onto voting for any Labour MP as a lesser evil. But they are not. Name me a significant policy difference on the question of war or racism, and I might think you have used your brain.

It's called a "General" Election for a reason

The point I was making is that the Tories simply ARE WORSE than even "New" Labour - being JUST AS BAD as NewLab with regard to the above issues but going even further when it comes to slashing public spending, deregulating our industries and bashing the unions.
To misrepresent May 5 as nowt more than a referendum on the war is to display fundamental confusion about what people will be voting for on that day. If you want to cast your vote based on just one issue however - be my guest.
Personally, I think the best tactic would be to return Labour with a severely mauled majority and the loss of a few leading Blairites and hope that the party is shaken up enough to boot out the New Labour fuckpigs.

New Labour, old Labour...

'Old Labour' implemented the 1971 Immigration Act when it took over from Edward Heath.
'Old Labour' (in the form of Kinnock) attacked the miners when they were at war with Thatcher, making out that the state violence anc picket line defence were as bad as each other.
Reducing Labour's majority (I am sure it will get in with a low turn-out and a reduced majoority but don't see helping this along as a socialist principle) will not lead it to turn leftwards. If it does, I promise to eat your copy of the Communist Manifesto. (I want to keep mine.)

Not content with the dispersal system, voucher system, rewriting of the Marriage Act, destruction of benefits and creation of three new types of detention centre, in its own words its pledges on immigration for the next term include:
• Granting refugees temporary leave rather than permanent status to begin with, and keeping the situation in their country under review.
• An identity card scheme.
• More detention of failed asylum seekers.
• Fast-track processing of all unfounded asylum seekers, with electronic tagging where necessary.
• Strong border controls with fingerprinting of all visa applicants and electronic checks on all those entering and leaving the country.
• Removals of failed asylum seekers to exceed failed claims.
• A transparent points system for those coming in to work or study.
• An end to chain migration - no immediate or automatic right for relatives to bring in more relatives.
Yeah, that is enough for me to not vote for them. The BNP allegedly has a better policy on the environment than some other parties. But so fucking what?
• An end to appeals when applying from abroad to work or study.
• Financial bonds for specific categories where there has been evidence of abuse, to guarantee that migrants return home.
• Only skilled workers allowed to settle long-term in the UK and English language tests for everyone who wants to stay permanently.
• Fixed penalty fines for employers for each illegal worker they employ as part of the drive against illegal working.
