Urgent - Brighton anti-militarist protest Wednesday

How can't you be against the troops per se, they are the ones actually doing the killing. No troops; no war. The politicians aren't going to do the dirty work themselves. The sooner we accept that we will offend some people, the sooner we can say what needs to be said: "I'm just doing my job in no excuse" however young or stupid you may be.

the "not against the troops" is affirming that they are voicing this opinion in with the soldiers welfare in mind. young people should not have to lay down their lives for the pointless greed and hegamony which consuming the globe just so that those who give the order to charge! Especialy when they are given their orders under the guise of "freedom." Alot of the soldiers, especially the grunts and privates have joined up as the army presents affordable access to education or even a solution to a "no other choice" scenario, the organisation of the "developed democratic" society provides very little if any support for juveniles, young offenders, so they look to the armed forces especialy the army for their route out of the shit they have to deal with.
As Antimilitarists in that we must not encourage the growth of profiteering comapnies such as the one in question in brighton, we need to discourage further growth in the armed forces (if we take away the wood the bush fire goes out and it can do no more harm)
sure there are head cases in the armed forces who join for the sick and pleasure of finaly being allowed to kill another human being but we should be considering those who have very little choice and be apealing to their humanity to leave the ranks, it is a well understood reaction to someone who gives you only hate to put up defenses, obstantly stick to what you were doing all the while, and rally upon others for support therebye strengthening your argument and making it harder to be uprooted.
Obviously this doesnt work with fascists and there isn't a big enough or dirty enough wall to do them the justice.
Resistance to the arms trade is essential, it discourages further building of factories or supplieng of weaponary to murdering countries (can any one figure out the link between Libya and soon to be Syria, NATO, and Israel in the world market context, 10 points and a batch of vegan chocolate doughnuts!) Libya is about to cost the country over £1bn and everyone is just nodding their heads and mumbling about Gadafi whilst spoonfeeding other tyrants. The factory in Brighton is indeed a toughnut to crack given the hired mercenaries of the Sussex PIG (Prick, Immoral, Grunt) and Welsh Cavalry Division who surround the factory every time, beat people unmercilessly, chase and cause more commontion in the city than the demo, indimidate the organisers and lie to the rest of the cities average population!
Remove Companies who support it Bank of Scotland, Santander, Natwest you know who you are!
Fight Em! When despite their Retaltiation! Keep biting back until their shut! keep marching until every one knows, united and see that the factory goes!

I work in a school in a rough estate - in terms of crime and poverty, one of the worst in the country. Specifically, I work with mostly boys with a range of behaviour and learning difficulties. The army is all over my school like a rash, grooming kids from a young age. The army is (often correctley) presented as the only way off the estate, and many of the kids are taken on army trips, where they get to mess around with guns, put on cammo face paint and have a laugh. By the time many of them leave the education system, being cannon fodder is second nature to them. It's only once they experience the horrors of war that they realise that it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.

Obviously, I'm against militarism, and do my bit in the school to discourage it, but the soldiers aren't to blame, and trying to blame them is to misunderstand the nature of this system, in which people are compelled to sell their labour to any one of a number of odious institutions. I think it is wrong to blame the worker for the cruelty of the boss, and this is as true for the army as any other sector.

what better example of a supposed triumphant return from a brutal and destructive campain on all accounts. so many paralells between the legions marching through rome! Supprised they're not parading any "barbarians" for the crowds to gloat over! Brighton loves Peace! no support for these warmongers! when you look at the soldiers tomorow try to imagine how many childrens lives they have helped to destroy! think how broken their own lives are! these people layed their lives for the lies of those who wanted to grow fatter and saw profits and world dominance over the sanctity of all life!
For all their brothers in arms regretful and mournful sacrifice Afganistans no better and once the British are gone the Taliban will simply come back! Tigers were symbols of Ancient Persias gradeur, how ironic! probably looted from Bagdad or Kandaha museums

The government is marching these people through the streets because they're shitting themselves about people getting pissed off, nothing like a good old show of militarism to drill the 'love your country, love your government, love your army' message home to Joe Public.

Yeah, for a lot of young people it is the only way off the estate but that doesn't mean it should not be shouted down for the murderous, bigoted, patrio-racist shit it is. Fuck the troops, they're all complicit, if you take a liberal stance and say 'they're only following orders, don't blame them' then you're justifying their very existence, fuck them. Fuck them all.

If I was near england then I'd be in Brighton opposing the march myself, need to show the public and the gutter press that it's not just mentalist islamic fundamentalists that oppose the troops but people you work with, pass on the street every day and -shock horror- people you might indentify with.

Fuck soldiers, fuck cops, fuck blind patriotism.
