Is Searchlight not telling us something?

Auldie | 05.02.2007 21:42 | Anti-racism

Having just read the latest issue of Searchlight I am surprised to see an obituary for UVF man David Ervine.

Not only an obituary but a glowing one at that.

The obituary writeen by former NF/UDA man Mathew Collins glorifies not only the UVF but also takes a very hard swipe at the Republican movement.

What gives?

Read it Again.

Feb's issue of Searchlight does have an obit to Ervine. It is critical of his politics and in no way swipes at the Rep movement.

It merely says he was good on the issue of racism among loyalists.

Nothing as sinister as you suggest Auld.

I suggest you read it again, properly and with your glasses on.

......realised that being anti-Catholic wasn't all there is to being a Prod in NI.

Therefore, his moderate move to being a right-wing "socialist" (Strasserite), is much more acceptable to the state agents of Searchlight.

So, being anti-racist, qualifies as being the equivalent of not thinking "any Taig will do".

And Searchlight help the state in providing him with a sufficient obituary.

Still better than bombs going off though.

In essence.

Your theories would make far more sense if you could get Ervine's name right.
