The key is the subconscious, and the intellectual arrogance of Humans that are convinced that THEY are too bright to be manipulated or fooled. You will be flattered by when the speaker appears to say "you are clever, because *I* agree with what you think. As your barriers fall, the true manipulation begins.

I can see none of the critism of twilight being actually accurate. Whilst I am also unnerved with the continuous nazi examples I do believe he just used them as they are the most obvious for debating different levels of responsibility for terrorism and also for a positive example of a terrorist action against a dictator.
