what's with all the unnecessary agression and violence, isn't it about time the greeks learnt how to put kittens in little baskets and attach them to balloons and fly them towards the police ? a much more imaginative method of confrontation rather than the oh so passe motoltov and brick, c.o.g

Now don't you dare accuse the protestors of being violent, that is what whining english liberals do, hence why us brits are so ineffective of being revolutionary while everyone else are so much better, oh and fuck the police, no parasan, i wish i was a zapatista in mexica as they are gods etc etc etc

ps oh and once the revolution comes all you sad liberal hippies who have lived comfortable middle class lives will be first against the wall you pathetic vermin.

this goes to comment #1 : this is *not* about molotovs & protesters getting it down w/ the police. this is about students (& faculty) protesting against (counter-)educational reforms planned by the greek government. the person who contributed the article didn't attach any explanation to the photos - maybe they're only interested in the "riot" side of things, i don't care a bit: the protests took place for a well-defined reason & i believe i don't need to tell you that athens.indymedia.org has been up & running for a long time & you can take a look/ask for more info there. so, spare me the stupid criticism about "us greek anarchists" & "what we should learn" - i have a feeling that i know better than you do the limitations of the movement, thank you very much...

exscuse my flippancy as i was using the athens report to make a point about the uk , I have absolutley no intention of telling the greeks how they should go about there business,a fair point to make is that if the same occured in the uk it would be ritually condemned by the hand wringing hippy brigade , actions such as this in other countries[ which i support] seem to recieve none of the same sort of critisms , when its close to home people seem to go all pacifist and sem to get queazy. regards C.O.G
