Edinburgh street closure + boarding pics before the make poverty history march

With all the fuss and apocalyptic media hype before the Make Poverty History (MPH) march, I talked to many residents who were expecting widespread riots. The preparations for the MPH march made it look like one was expected...












In the end the march was I found quite depressing, with the whole route penned in by barriers and seperated from the residents and other streets, while many normal saturday locals stayed well away. Still, the morning was great with the streets closed to traffic, empty expanses of road giving a vision of a city without cars...

thats true. there was an over the top recation by the police, whith the barrers and police holding pens. i missed my train because of the diversions and not being allowed to go back to the right station, then i was made to go to heymarket station and i had to get the train to waverly........ well at least GNER made some money.
