At this very moment there is a lock on outside the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh in protest against the Trident Nuclear Weapons System. Protesters are locked into a 'Trident Sub' and are going to stay as long as they possibly can (in other words...they won't be leaving of their own accord!) They are asking for people to bring essentials like food and blankets, and for any one willing to do a shift on the lock on to get down there ASAP. Call 07760 161755 for more details
There are 17 people (including Member of Scottish Parliament Rosie Kane) locked-on inside a 25-foot model submarine blocking the road to the Holyrood Parliament in Edinburgh. They've been there since the morning and intend to stay there for a while yet. The cops have been standing by making no attempt to remove. SSP MSP Carolyn Leckie was earlier kicked out of First Minister's Questions for holding a sign in support of the demo.

Deputy Leader of the SNP Nicola Sturgeon MSP said: "In the next parliament there will have to be a decision about whether or not we replace Trident so I think every party has an obligation to say where they stand. The SNP's view is that Trident is already a massive waste of money and to replace it would cost £300 million pounds a year in Scotland. I think that's money that could be much better spent on other priorities."
