Glasgow actions against war: 16th, 17th, 18th January

Thursday 16 January:

Glasgow Anarchist students plan some more disruption, this time on the streets. Meet at the main gate outside the SRC building car park, on University Avenue, at 12:30pm.

Last month anarchist students at Glasgow University occupied a lecture hall in protest against war and war-profiteers. They were protesting against war, and demanding that the University cut all ties with the armed forces and the arms industry.

The students are at it again, calling again for the armed forces of the state to be booted off campus. The Army have been active in recruitment on campus recently, sparking pickets and demonstrations. It’s time for them to go.

They are also calling for the removal of the University's Chancellor, who sits on the Universities' pension fund, which invests millions in war-profiteering companies such as BAe. Get rid of him, and get rid of the companies. Invest in ethical companies, if you can find any.

Friday 17 January

Another action in Glasgow, on the eve of the anniversary of the start of the last (and ongoing) attack on the people of Iraq. This one may well involve a prolonged visit to a government building in the city centre. Occupiers and supporters needed. Details of meeting-up can be had on the previous day at the uni, or watch this space.
