SMQ Legal, a newly established legal firm in Oxford, has secured the national Law Society’s law management quality mark.

Based in Crowley Road, SMQ Legal, lead by solicitor-advocate Suezanne King, gained the Lexcel accreditation merely a year after the firm was established.

Lexcel gives assurance that a practice meets high client care and business management standards. SMQ legal underwent a rigorous application and assessment process including background checks and visits from assessors to prove they are worthy of the mark.

Suezanne King of SMQ Legal said, “We are incredibly pleased that only in our second year of practice we have secured this accolade. A huge thank you must go to our dedicated staff for their hard work in gaining this prestigious standard. The Lexcel accreditation demonstrates our commitment to client care and best practice, our clients are at the heart of our business.”

Andrew Caplan, President of the Law Society of England and Wales, said, “Gaining and maintaining Lexcel is no mean feat. A commitment to customer service in today’s evermore competitive legal services market is vital. By undergoing the rigorous Lexcel application and assessment process, practices can show the positive steps they are taking to help in the increasingly diverse and complicated legal services market. The scheme is a beacon of quality to clients and potential clients alike.”

SMQ Legal joins legal practices across England and Wales with Lexcel accreditation which has now gone international with firms in the Middle East, Poland and the Republic of Ireland having gained the accreditation.

ABOUT SMQ LEGAL

SMQ Legal is an exceptional law firm based in Oxford that has made its mark in civil and criminal law since it was established last year. In that short space of time the firm, led by solicitor-advocate Suezanne King, has made its name as the sole practice working with the campaigning group Joint Enterprise Not Guilty by Association (JENGbA), successfully representing those present at a seen of a crime.

Not only has the practice found a niche in criminal law, it has extended to civil litigation and public law where Suezanne and her team have also challenged the Article 10 ‘freedom of expression’ principle with success. The civil litigation department tackles many legal issues such as insolvency, property ownership disputes, as well as Landlord & Tenants cases concerning Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs).
