This week, charges of 'failure to leave land' (similar to aggravated trespass) were finally dropped against the four activists - from Oxford and elsewhere - who, on 20th Febuary,
locked themselves together on the main runway of Brize Norton, preventing all take-off and landing for several hours.
This seems to be part of a
wider trend. Some have speculated that the government is seeking to avoid publicity, since any court case allows activists and their solicitors a platform to argue the illegality of the war.
