Can you feel the Class War all around you?

Still spendid as we head to the 2020s
Yes we are Working Class, yes we live and were brought up on council estates where the Ruling Class think we can be divided and forgotten about. Forced in to Unemployment when it suits them, hidden from view when it suits some of their Institutions... Read more >>

Whatever happened to the unemployed organising themselves?

Whatever happened to self- organisation within the unemployed sections of our class? Surely they must have some hours left in the week after being forced on courses, or in to doing voluntary work for nothing. Read more >>

Newsflash: Labour Doesn’t Care About You

The Class War continues
It turns out the Left can move people – just not very far or in very interesting directions.

Seeing as how these things are usually rained out or freezing, The People’s Assembly at least managed to pick a nice enough day for their “No More Austerity: Demand the Alternative” march on Saturday (June 21st).

It’s a shame they couldn’t also have picked a more inspiring message – begging the government to stop the public service cuts they’re ideologically committed to and demanding a new Labour government as the only ‘alternative’ they can imagine. Hardly an Earth shatteringly radical call to arms for the poor and oppressed. But they do have Russell Brand, so that’s something. Read more >>

Sharing information about Bradley Manning at Chester May Day Fair

flyer

I went along to the May Day fair in Chester today where local campaign groups such as CND, Palestine Solidarity, Cuba Solidarity, Shrewsbury 24 Pickets, various benefits campaigns and others had a presence, along with the unions and a few political parties. Having put up a Free Bradley Manning banner, I handed out 100+ flyers about 1 June International Day of Solidarity Action and made a point of speaking to at least one person on every stall to ask them to circulate information about Bradley Manning via their networks.

The bands, speeches, marches, banner, Gala field, funfair etc all allow for a great family day out where old and new comrades meet and greet. Read more >>

Mersey Lockouts Mark Heightened Class Struggle

A picketer keeps the fire burning through the night in Bootle this week
Industrial lockouts have been completely unknown in the UK for over fifty years. So it must be far from coincidence that two have taken place on Merseyside during the past month. Though there are slight differences between the cases, both are the result of bosses using the current crisis to lower production costs, and increase the rate of exploitation. Read more >>
