Birmingham's autonomous social centres collective present an evening of radical films in solidarity with the Common Place. 7.15 pm, at the Spotted Dog, Alcester St, Digbeth.
In Birmingham, freespacebrum is a collective of people working to create both temporary and long lasting social centres, freespaces, autonomous zones, and campaigns for autonomous community facilities and against gentrification and paternalism.

Readers will be familiar with recent attacks on social centres, and other venues, in the wake of the 'On the verge' film tour, and in particular the attack on Leeds' radical social centre The Common Place. http://www.thecommonplace.org.uk/
The Common Place was recently attacked by the council, its entertainment and alcohol licence revoked. The Common Place is therefore under threat since it struggles to have a sustainable income without these licences.
