MP Dr. Mustafa Barghouthi, Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative, said that who should be characterized by extremism are Netanyahu and his government and not the Palestinians. And that Netanyahu is accusing the Palestinians of what he is doing and he forgets that he is acting as head of the settlers.
Ramallah, 2010 March 28 - Barghouthi considered Netanyahu’s charges to the Palestinian side as “not moderate” as another attempt to blame the Palestinians for what may result from the crimes of Israeli settlements and land theft and Judaizing of Jerusalem and the killing of citizens. He said, who refuses to halt settlement activity, define the framework and reference for the negotiation process, supports the uncontrolled settlers and their attacks, protects of the army of occupation and continue to launch raids into the Gaza Strip is characterized by extremism and not the part that asked for his rights and defend human dignity.
He described threats by the Minister of Finance, Yuval Steinitz, on re-occupying the Gaza Strip again as fall within the scope of violence by the Israeli government against the citizens of Jerusalem and the West Bank and Gaza. He also warned about the risk of Israeli threats that fall within the framework of preparing public opinion for a new aggression on the Palestinian people.
