Emmerdale's Leyla brings Vegan World to Wolverhampton
Famous vegan beauty, Roxie Ghawam-Shahidi - who plays 'Leyla Harding' from TV's Emmerdale - brings the vegan world to Wolverhampton this October.
Roxie will open the West Midlands Vegan Festival alongside Councillor Malcolm J Gwinnett, The Right Worshipful The Mayor of Wolverhampton. The festival is the largest of its kind in the UK in 2010, and launches World Vegan Month which runs throughout November.
Roxie said today, "I'm really excited to be coming to Wolverhampton, particularly as this is my first ever vegan festival. I'm looking forward to a really fun day. It's fabulous that these kinds of events are being organised - with everything vegan from clothes to cookery demonstrations."
At the Birmingham base of world's first Vegan Society, Amanda Baker said, "Roxie is an amazing example of just how vibrant and active vegans can be. We are delighted to have her supporting World Vegan Month for 2010."
Recently named a Top 50 West Midlands Green Leader 2010, Kevin White of the WM Vegan Festival organizing group said, "We look forward to welcoming all of Roxie's many fans, whether vegan-curious or die-hard omnivores.".

Great press release - but not really suitable for Indymedia!

I agree it doesn't really go down well with the Indymedia demographic though. But maybe they don't really mind about that.
Hope the day goes well and you convert a lot of people to veganism!
