Whilst this election bucked the downward trend in voting turnout the anti-election camp are confident that disillusionment will start to creep back. There is a solid rump of none-voters who are not fooled by TV debates and hype. Added to them we can expect a lot of people who made an extra effort to vote this time, to realise that it was of no benefit to them and will think twice about making the same mistake again. The big challenge is whether or not the no-vote can be converted into an active resistance. With the oncoming cuts sharpening the class struggle, progressive anti-parliamentarians need to up their efforts and try and galvanise the discontent and anger that is sure to be generated.
