By all means oppose religious extremism, or even religion, but to single one religion out and claim it's worse than others is pathetic. They are all as dangerous as each other.

The timing of this one on a day when none of the West Midlands' Premier & Championship football teams are playing would appear to indicate that the edl are indeed football related hooligans up for a Saturday ruck.
It's very likely that they don't have the nous to understand that they are being manipulated by extreme right-wing organisations attempting to incite racial tension and encourage Islamophobia.

It's a strange fact the the Daily Mail are scum, but they usually have the best pictures on their website. They are especially good at getting pictures of people entering court, which isn't good if it's our side, but can be useful if they are scumbags.

And the Israel flag was weird. I assume it was just to wind up Muslims, not because they are pro-Israel in any way. I imagine most of them are anti-semitic.

I first thought the EDL were right wing as well, then i saw their bnp tshirts, their nazi salutes, their hysterical stereotyping of muslims, their propencity to aggression, their crappy little skinhead followers, their lack of brain power, their inability to have a coherent argument....

It doesn't matter how many times EDL say they are not right-wing, fascists, nazis or whatever the problem remains that they ARE playing the same role thats why people are getting upset. EDL is opening up a can of worms where blind nationalism, xenophobia and racism can emerge from. What is the view of the average EDL "non-political supporter" ? Basically they think that "our boys" are just doing their job in Afghanistan and Iraq. Well the truth is that "our boys" are killing in the name of big business and the ruling capitalist elites. They are murderers and they can either choose to stay as or leave the army. If someone chooses to go to afganistan and gets killed then its their business. They shouldn't expect every citizen in the UK to pay homage to them. Maybe the large contractors from the US and UK should be thankful, as its them NOT the Afghan people that are benefitting.

The EDL won't recognise this, they just drunkingly sing "God save the queen" and "Inger-land" and wonder why people in this country - black, asian and white - start throwing bottles at them. If the EDL honestly wants to confront Militant/Political Islam, then they should re-address how they are fighting it. You cannot fight a reactionary religion with equally reactionary politics.
