Second attempt to remove Stephane Siewe

John O | 05.12.2008 07:26 | Migration | Social Struggles | Workers' Movements | Birmingham

Stephane Siewe, a Cameroon national and resident of Middlesbrough, is currently detained in Colnbrook IRC and due to be forcibly removed from the UK on Monday 8th December on Kenya Airways flight KQ101 from London Heathrow terminal 4 @ 19:00 to Nairobi, then Kenya Airways flight KQ504 to Douala Cameroon.

His Asylum claim was fast tracked and although the Home Office accepted that he was a member of the SCNC and accepted his active involvement with the SCNC. They did not find the evidence submitted regarding his torture to be credible, saying that not all his scars are consistent with his account of what happened. His claim was refused, as was his appeal.

Background: Stephane Siewe Belongs to Middlesbrough

His friends feel that with the help of a very good solicitor and more time in which to get documents authenticated, as well as good up to date country information and a fresh medical report, Stephane would have a chance to make a fresh asylum claim, if he is removed, this will not be possible.

What you can do to help!
1) Fax/email, Sam Okwulehie, Group Area Manager Kenya Airways and urge him not to carry out the forced removal of Stephane Siewe - you can use the model fax 'StephaneSiewe.doc' attached. Let Kenya Airways know that it is not acceptable to call themselves 'the pride of Africa' and participate in the removal of people seeking sanctuary within the UK or anywhere in the world.
