Dressed as law-breakers activists made a mock appeal to be included in the new police initiative to selectively turn a blind eye to criminal behaviour.
Bank robbers, drug dealers and gangsters were amongst the guests, with their arms round the Hunt Master embracing the new approach to Law and Order.
The police are no longer upholding the Law of the land in such a rigid fashion as perhaps we have been accustomed to - well, in fact, in respect of the Hunt ban, taking no action at all.
The police now seem keen to send a message out to citizens that we can take a more laissez-faire approach to the criminal Law as can be witnessed by their non-interventionist approach to the Hunt -"we ain't seen nothin" seems to be their new approach as the hunt drive horses and hounds through the new Law.
Much support for the demo was received by passers-by whilst west mercia officers milled around imposing various draconian restrictions on the demo, namely section 14 - duration of demo, numbers allowed etc.
[Sec14: The senior officer may impose conditions on public assemblies, which he considers are reasonably necessary to prevent serious public disorder]
Well we suppose cars passing beeping support for the demo could may well have contributed to an officer's suspicion that a possible riot situation may well have been at hand. ah hum.
We guess that situation was nipped in the bud by the forward thinking officer who imposed the sec14 order.
A photographer from a local worcester newspaper turned up and snapped away.
Overall a great demo, humurous, educational, shameful for the police and fun for activists. The next one should be brilliant too!
Next off was a ten strong visit to the Glasshouse Brasserie, Sidbury, Worcester who profit from selling the diseased liver of geese and ducks (foie gras).
When activists arrived an officer entered the restaurant advising staff to replace the window menu with one that didn't include foie gras, how he or they didn't notice ten campaigners outside watching this farce was beyond comprehension.
The Glasshouse have recently been caught out lying saying that they had taken diseased liver off their menu when they hadn't. The owner stated today that they "will always sell foie gras and that he won't be stopped".
Anti-foie gras banners/posters unfurled by almost a dozen activists, disgruntled bobbies present, the demo kicked off.
Many leaflets were given out, plenty of public support was received which the police couldn't seem take who soon imposed a draconian section 14 order which restricted the demo to 60 minutes which culminated in the banning of all activists present for 7 days from the area for silently and peacefully handing out leaflets and holding banners. Incredible. Our land, our lives, our choice, and this is what's happening around us.
This is disgusting. These are our streets not theirs and we'll be back. Our forefathers didn't get blown to smitherines on the battlefields during ww1 and ww2 fighting fascism for this crap to be allowed to happen on the streets that they died to protect.
Last stop was the Quays restaurant in South quay, Worcester who are also selling foie gras.
This restaurant was completely dead on arrival. After 40 minutes in the cold and rain it was time to leave when what was witnessed at that moment was a steady streaming cavalcade of west mercia police vehicles heading towards the Quays restaurant.
This is Worcester, this is repression and this is bloody determined animal rights activism.
