Herefordshire: Sequani vivisection labs Regional Demo report

Safe_From_Harm | 27.09.2005 15:31 | Animal Liberation | Birmingham

At the regional demo on Saturday 24th September, 40 activists gathered outside the Sequani vivisection hell-hole as part of the SSAT regional demo, shouting and waving placards, the police looked for anything that they could do to lower the numbers.

The police were the security for the day as Sequani’s ‘guards’ had locked themselves away in their hut to hide from the truth - that they are **** of the earth guarding a company that tortures scores of animals to death every day.

Grunts of “That’s trespass” and “Get back on the other side of the road or I’ll arrest you” were heard from the police.

A low tolerance was taken towards the police as activists ran across the fields behind Sequani, much to the annoyance of those in yellow jackets, after all the grass is too long and they may get their boots dirty!

Hundreds of cages were round the back of the death camp, empty after animals had been killed and only a statistic remained that showed they were once alive.

Some stayed at the labs, whilst others marched through Deadbury town centre to converge on Sequani clinical. The gates were locked and police looked shocked as the protesters shouted at the vile company.

Back at the labs, a pro vivisection neighbour from a B&B opposite the animal torture centre came out and complained, the police began issuing Section 5 warnings against the use of megaphones and a drum. Funny how it doesn’t cause the residents “Harassment, alarm, and distress” what is happening on their doorsteps behind the fences and CCTV at Sequani Limited?

One activist was arrested after the police used their only weapon (section 5), claiming the demonstrator used the megaphone after they were warned not to. In actual fact, the activist had only shouted whilst the megaphone was switched off and away from their face!!

After being asked what they’d do if activists climbed over Sequani’s fences, one police man answered “We’d arrest you”, and when questioned under what they said “Well we’d have to make something up wouldn’t we.”

................................................................. The day was a success and the demo’s will continue until the doors of Sequani Limited are closed once and for all!
