Paulie you are the one who is wrong. In relying upon the state apparatus to deal with racism it is another nail in the coffin of freedom. You might be applauding them for arresting a racist today, but remember tomorrow it's your door they'll be kicking in. It should be up to the people to deal with racists like this.

Should he not of been arrested? Wouldn't he just carry on killing people? If the police didn't arrest him - then what would of stopped him? Anarchists playing weird musical instruments and Marching wouldn't really have any effect.

Well, they appear to be a damn site more effective than you lot - because they got to this woman and dealt with it, whereas you sat in front of your keyboard and typed some bollox about how ace you are.

I don't think you've thought this through either. Clearly, your bigoted view of the police has completely clouded your judgement who have clearly done something here (as opposed to done nothing)

what will actually come out of this woman being arrested? i hear she is being held on remand. so she has been seperated from her child, and turned into a martyr. will she learn anything from this? highly unlikely. she will spend some time in custody, getting angrier and feeling even more hard done by, while the far-right will be in touch encouraging this process, i am sure. rehabilitation? don't make me laugh. she will come out even worse than she went in. and meanwhile who has to share a cell with her?

this is not to be celebrated.

cases like this should be a warning to those who call themselves anarchists and do nothing positive for their communities, we need to start engaging, urgently. we have singularly failed to provide any viable alternative to the (in)justice system, which is why the comments above have such resonance for so many.

if the police hadn't arrested her she would have walked away with no punishment and no opportunity to learn. as it is she has no opportunity to learn but she will be punished. this will of course be a reassurance to some who rightly feel something has to be done, and i don't blame them one bit, but there are alternatives and ways of dealing with people like her which can actually lead to change - we need to be demonstrating these.

it's because of state posturing at anti-racism, locking up someone like this without explanation or education, that people like brevik take the actions they do. this woman was relatively harmless albeit deeply offensive, having done time she will be outright dangerous and hardened beyond words. is that a positive outcome?

How exactly is a 10yo girl going to be 'tougher' and look after herself against a person who suddenly draws a rifle and fires at her in the back? How exactly is going down the gym and getting 'tougher' going to defend you against a car bomb full of nails?

Of course, we still need people to STOP this from happening (like the police did when they turned up, but obviously cant be the police because they are bad mmmmm?

Maybe if anarchists ran things, I suppose then could set up a special group who go around and sort out injustice acts and defend the weak. Perhaps we could have a set of rules written down to say what people can and can't do and these people would ensure people abided by those rules so that those who were unable to defend their rights could. We could give these people special hats who they were easily recognisable in the street and you can ask for help.

I think its a bit of a misunderstanding,
There are certain ways that a person can act, certain fundamentals to do with responsibility and to do with levels of empowerment that could be described as anarchic. People organising a food cooperative for example, or taking responsibility for recycling waste materials (or just generating less waste), community basically, that thing we lack so badly here in blighty.
Community is what we lack and is why so much of our policing and general management of resources is so disempoweringly detached from most of our lives. We walk past piles of rubbish complaining but we do not pick the rubbish up etc....
Anarchists do not want to run the world so theorising about it is pointless. Many people act anarchicly without even realising they are doing it. The word had become loaded as words do with all sorts of meanings, but in essence anarchy is people organising organically via networks. This model is proven to be the best and the strongest way to operate, and the fairest time and time again in nature and indeed in the fabric of matter itself. The basis of quantum theory is that there are no particles, only interactions. We are not separate particles, but are in fact a web of closely connected fluctuating possibilities. So these clumsy and inefficient hierachies are doomed to fall or fail, as is inevitable when things are allowed to grow unchecked out of hand and now out of time. Harmony is possible through cooperating networks. Harmony is not possible through top down pointy hierachies. There is too much separation the structure is too weak. These short sighted patriachal systems of domination are always short lived and have not been a feature of humanity until relatively recently. It is inevitable that they will fail and I am very optimistic about out chances of doing without them. It is not a case of us losing something we depend upon, but rather a case of gaining freedom from something which oppresses us.
anarchy need not have anything to do with punk music! I only listen to punk ironically. The association is one example of irrelevant association.
I would not call myself an anarchist nor want others too.
I have always been in favor of networks, not just against hierachiies..... so try to find a catchy name for that ideology and let me know.

She was arrested for selling out of date racism on a public tram m'lud .

Had this woman substituted the words "white people" with "our culture" and "foreigner" with "Muslim" she would undoubtedly be enjoying the full protection of the law today . Anarcho-feminists would be offering her a platform to express fears of an impending caliphate , Peter Tatchell writing up a sympathetic column for the Guardian , she would already have been reached out to by a Labour Party blue collar outreach unit by now.

It's funny how all the left wing sites are banging on about this woman having a rant on a fucking tube and yet not ONE of them have commented on the four Somalian girls who walked FREE from court after a racist attack on a white girl!
